FAQs

Can we wear shoes in the Play Space?

NO shoes are allowed in the Play Space. All children and adults are required to take their shoes off. If you have a disability preventing you from removing your shoes, we offer shoe covers. These shoe covers are not designed to be walked around in. They are intended for the person wearing them to be able to sit in the cafe area with their shoes on.

Why do we see you and other people wearing shoes?

Occasionally, the bean team will wear fit kicks and/or swim shoes. These shoes have never been worn outside of The Boutique and are used to help our aching feet after standing on them for hours!

Why do adults have to take their shoes off? I am not playing.

You say that now…. but those balls are going to call your name! Ok, that’s not the reason you have to take off your shoes. We have two main reasons adults are required to take off their shoes.

  • A. Our facility is a shoe-free facility to try and help maintain germs as much as possible. Leaving shoes at the front desk keeps germs and dirt down. You want our balls and pit to stay nice and clean, right?

  • B. requiring adults to leave their shoes at the front counter ensures parents will return to the front counter to have their wristbands checked for child safety and security.

Why aren’t the socks in plastic?

We use a rental sock program to keep our costs down and our facility clean and sanitized.

What is a rental sock program?

Have you ever stayed at a hotel? Have you ever worked out at a gym? Have you ever gone swimming at a swim club? If you have been lucky to do any of these things, then you are familiar with a rental program! They rent their towels, sheets, blankets, etc. Like these places, we wash and sanitize our socks and reuse them. By doing this, we keep our costs low, the clothing landfills less cluttered, and our prices low! So our rental program means you rent socks from us to use at the play space and then return them when you are done. If you would like to purchase socks to take home, you can!

Can I take my rental socks home?

Nope. They are rental socks. You return them just like you would bowling shoes or rental skates. You leave them just like you do towels and sheets at a hotel or gym. Otherwise, that would be considered stealing, right?

Are the shoe covers slip resistant?

Shoe covers ARE NOT slip resistant! The floor is very slippery, and this is why we provide and recommend every single person to wear our unique slip-resistant socks. You will be required to sign a waiver stating that you understand the shoe covers are not slip-resistant and acknowledge the floor is slippery; you were offered slip-resistant socks and declined.

Can we use our socks again?

Nope. We give you socks every single time.

Why can’t we just use our socks again?

Have you ever been to an indoor inflatable play area or indoor playground? Did it smell like old sweaty shoes and feet? Was the equipment not as clean as you would’ve imagined? Well, this is because most of these places allow you to either:

  • A. wear your socks

  • B. bring back your old socks.

We know that laundry is a daunting thing, and we know that sometimes every sock doesn’t get washed. We know that kids like to wear the same socks repeatedly. We know that people walk around with their socks on in all places to check their mail, take out the trash, or whatever. So because we can’t guarantee everyone will come back with nice, clean, smell-good socks, we just give you rental socks! This is why our facility smells so good. And, hey, who doesn’t like getting clean, fresh socks?

What should I do with my socks if I buy new ones?

Wear them around your house! Wear them to school or work! Wear them to check your mail or take out your trash! Donate them, but please don’t simply throw them away! And don’t bring them back with you.

Do you offer memberships?

YES!! We offer annual memberships for kids within the same household. The membership is tied to the child. This means any adult can bring your kids (they would just need to purchase socks)

Can my friend and I share a membership?

Unfortunately, we do not allow membership sharing. Kids must be siblings and in the same household for memberships. We do offer grandparent memberships. (ask for details) A friend can bring in a child with a membership, but if they bring a child not included in the membership, they would need to pay regular admission rates.

Can I transfer my membership to someone else?

No. We do not allow membership transfers. If it is found that membership has been transferred or is being shared, we have the right to cancel membership without a refund.

Do you offer/serve food or snacks?

NOT YET! This feature is coming soon!

Can we bring in outside food?

Absolutely! You can bring any food, drink, or snack of your choice! We simply ask you to keep all food and beverages in the Cool beans cafe. You can also have pizza delivered!

Do you offer birthday parties?

Of course! All of our birthday parties are private parties.

Can I bring in a cake for my birthday child during open play?

Sorry, we do not allow outside cake during open play. Your birthday child is more than welcome to come to play at The Boutique for their birthday; however, any birthday activities will not be allowed. We reserve these special activities and events for VIP guests who book private parties.

Can I have a face painter for my party?

Sorry, we do not allow face paint in our facility. Many face painters use acrylic paint, and often that paint stains and are impossible to remove from surfaces. Due to our high integrity and goal of keeping The Boutique as clean as possible, face paint is not allowed.

Can I bring in decorations for my party?

Absolutely! We allow you to bring any additional decorations you may have for your birthday party. Please keep in mind we cannot remove anything from our walls to accommodate decorating. This means we cannot remove shelving or pictures to hang up backdrops or any other props. We cannot move heavy furniture to accommodate decorating. This means our air hockey and foosball tables cannot be moved to accommodate decorations.

It’s so dim. Can you turn on the lights for our photographer?

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the lights will be able to be brightened up for your event. Only the store manager has access to the light box, and the box is kept locked for safety reasons. We will do everything in our power to provide you with the best experience. However, some things are out of our bean’s control.

How will I know if you are open or closed for a private event?

We frequently announce on our Facebook page when we are closed for a private event. We also post all special and private events on our homepage. Or, you can simply drive out to The Boutique to see if we are closed and then enjoy dinner or lunch at one of the fabulous restaurants at Eastern Shore!

What if I lose something in the ball pit?

We will do our very best to try and locate any lost items in the ball pit. We empty our ball pit for deep cleanings and will also try to locate lost items at that time. However, we cannot guarantee any items will be found. If we find your item, we will contact you and hold your item for 48 hours. We are not responsible for any items lost and found at The Boutique. We have a lost and found box that is accessible to several people. We ask that any lost and found items be picked up within 24 to 48 hours.

How many inflatables do you have?

Zero! Jumpin’ Jellybeans Boutique Play Space is not an indoor inflatable space. If you want an inflatable, check out our rental side!

Are you a Franchise?

We are not a franchise. We are a corporate Brand. Jumpin’ Jellybeans is a brand owned by one family. We believe families like ours deserve the highest quality regarding their children and indoor play. We believe parents deserve to feel comfortable and can relax while their kids play. Because of these standards, we must maintain a cohesive brand that does not compromise our standards and expectations.
